On 19th April 2018 Meesha Shafi the fellow musician of Ali Zafar, took help of her social media and released a statement alleging that Ali Zafar sexually harassed her.
And now Ali Zafar denied all these allegations and files defamation suit against Meesha.
How It Started: Allegation On Ali Zafar
On 19 Aril Meesha Shafi wrote on social media “Sharing this because I believe that by speaking out about my own experience of sexual harassment, I will break the culture of silence that permeates through our society. It is not easy to speak out.. but it is harder to stay silent. My conscience will not allow it anymore”.

On the same day Ali Zafar took stand and said “i categorically deny any and all claims of harassment lodged against me by Ms Shafi”.

On April 25 2018, Ali Zafar’s legal counsel sent singer Meesha Shafi a Rs100 crore defamation notice for the sexual harassment allegations she made against him on social media.
But on 12th May Meesha’s lawyers rejected the legal notice sent by Ali Zafar.
Zafar’s lawyer Khwaja Tariq Rahim said, “Meesha Shafi’s allegations against Ali Zafar were false and baseless.
He added “Meesha Shafi levelled these accusations against Ali Zafar to gain cheap publicity… despite being sent a legal notice she has not apologised.”
So now finally Ali filed a defamation suit in a district court against his accuser on Saturday evening.
The lawsuit, claiming damages of PKR 1 Billion, Ali Files under the Defamation Ordinance 2002.
