Miss World 2017, the 67th edition of the Miss World pageant. was held on 18 November 2017 at the Sanya City Arena in Sanya, China. 118 contestants from all over the world competed for the crown.
After 17 years wait:
India’s Manushi Chhillar was today crowned as Miss World 2017 at a grand event held in Sanya in China. The 20-year-old medical student from Haryana had won Femina Miss India World 2017 in May this year. The announcement was made on the pageant’s official Twitter handle.
The coveted title was last won by Priyanka Chopra for India in 2000, a year after Yukta Mookhey had made the country proud.
The runners-up were Miss England, Stephanie Hill, and Miss Mexico, Andrea Meza.
African was represented in the top 5 by Miss Kenya, Magline Jeruto.
South Africa was represented by Miss SA 2017 runner-up, Ade van Heerden, who reached the top 10.
