Film 83 is based on the victory Indian Cricket team earned in 1983 World Cup.
The final of the 1983 Prudential Cup was played between India and West Indies at Lord’s on 25 June 1983.
This was the third consecutive World Cup final appearance for West Indies.
India playing their first finals defeated the West Indies to claim the title.
It was the first World cup win for India.
So the director Kabir Khan is excited to showcase the team’s journey of 1983’s WORLD CUP.
83 is confirm to release on 10th April 2020, the film’s production house announced the release date.

Ranveer Singh selected to play Legendary Cricket player Kapil Dev in the film, who was the captain of Indian Cricket Team in 1983.
As per the reports, Nawazuddin Siddiqui will be playing the role of 1983 World cup Indian Cricket Team’s Coach.
83 also cast Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub who has done supporting roles in popular films like Raanjhana, Raees and Jannat 2.
