After Padmaavat, Shahid Kapoor’s next is Shree Narayan Singh’s Batti Gul Meter Chalu. The movie will see the actor playing the role of a lawyer for the first time and the cast also includes Shraddha Kapoor and Yami Gautam in pivotal roles.
The actor was in Tehri, Uttarakhand shooting the first schedule of the movie.
Post completing the schedule, Shahid was spotted at the Mumbai airport and was all smiles for the paparazzi.
Shahid looked handsome in a white tee, black leather jacket and grey track pants.
White sneakers and big black round sunglasses completed his casual cool look.
During the shoot of Batti Gul Meter Chalu, Shraddha and Shahid are staying in houses around the locals in Tehri. They have ditched the luxuries of a hotel and have opted for home stays.
A source had told a leading daily, “The producers toyed with the idea of a five-star initially, but realized that the closest ones are in Dehradun. The conveyance would have been a hassle since the location is a three-hour-plus drive from Dehradun. That’s when Shahid and the producers decided to opt for homestay. When they suggested the idea to Shraddha, she instantly agreed.”
Meanwhile, in an interview with Pinkvilla, Shree Narayan Singh spoke about Shahid and said-
“Shahid is fantastic. He liked the idea and when he met me and he agreed for the movie within five minutes. Our equation is really good. Shahid is playing a lawyer in the film.”
Batti Gul Meter Chalu is slated to release on August 31, 2018.
