Closing Ceremony: 14 Days India And Nepal Joint Battalion Training

The armed forces of both the armies- India and Nepal participated in 14 days Joint Battalion Training based on Counter Terrorist Operations.

This training was between India and Nepal troops.

Today the training flourished, ended on a good note. 

SURYA KIRAN-XIII: Training exercise

This 14 days training exercise named SURYA KIRAN-XIII today came to an end at Pithoragarh, Uttrakhand.

The training started on 30th May 2018 and ended concluded today 12th June 2018.

Training concluded with 72 hours outdoor exercise in which the troops of both the countries carried out a Cordon and Search Operation in a mock counter- insurgency village.

During the training exercise- Lectures, demonstrations and drills regarding counter-insurgency were organised.

These 14 days exercise SURYA KIRAN-XIII also included joint training on Disaster Relief.

This disaster relief training helped in magnifying Disaster Management Skills of the armed forces of India and Nepal.

Extracurricular Activities 

Many extracurricular activities like – friendly Football, Basketball, Volleyball matches were also conducted between the troops from both the contingents.

A cultural event was also organised on this final day to increase sociability between both the armed forces.

During the final stage of the training Major General Neeraj Verma, Chief Of Staff, Headquarters Uttar Bharat Area, Brigadier Ajay Kumar Vig, and Brigadier Ranjan Mallik were present as Observer Representatives of Indian Army.

Major General Rajendra Karki, Divisional Commander, Mid Western Division and two officers of brigadier rank were present from Nepal Army.
