La Martiniere Girls’ College celebrated its annual sports Day with great enthusiasm! 

La Martiniere Girls’ College had its Annual Sports and PT Display on 11th November, 2017. The function was a colorful amalgam of athletic events and beautiful drills. Mrs. Leena Johri, IAS, Secretary and Commissioner, Board of Revenue, Uttar Pradesh was the Chief Guest on this occasion.

The function began with the lighting of the Torch by the Games Captain, Vani Vishwanathan followed by the March Past by the four Houses, Martin, Cornwallis, Hodson and Lyons. The drills performed were Students of class 12 presented the ‘Zumba Fiesta’. They welcomed the parents and other guests by the releasing of pink and blue balloons in the sky.

Class 7 evoked feelings of patriotism as they performed exercises with tri-coloured ribbons in ‘India Our pride’. The Martinian spirit was displayed in an array of exercises and striking formations with dupattas by the students of class 10 in ‘The Magical Blue and Gold’. Students of Class 9 happily clapped to creating reverberating music in ‘Captivating Clappers’. Their sound drill was highly appreciated.

Furthermore, the highlight of the evening was ‘Taekwondo – Fighting Fit’ by class 8. The children exhibited their skill in the Korean martial art form. The Chief Guest gave away the prizes and praised staff and students for presenting an entralling show. 

Martin House earned the March Past Shield with its perfectly matching feet and rhythm Loreto Convent College won the Inter College Relay where as Inter School Relay was won by La Martiniere Girls’ College.

The Mr. Sunil Das Trophy For The Best Middle school PT was handed over to Class VII ‘ India Our Pride’ and The Gresseux Cup For The Best Senior School PT was given to Class X  Magical Blue. Furthermore,The Athletic Cup has been won by Martin House
