Isn’t it surreal to know and read more about all those people and professionals who, in ways, more than one, make sure to do things “different” and rise high as true professionals in their respective niches? Well, the world is filled with too many such talented beings working across different fields and sectors of the world, but among them, a few individuals stand taller and unique from the rest in unimaginable ways. We came to learn about one such incredible professional in the world of trading who has shown his prowess and talents as an options trader; he is Adam Webb. This passionate man has been in the industry for more than two decades and has made sure to always thrive in the industry with his winning trading strategies and techniques.

Adam Webb had entered the trading world in the mid-90s by working at the London FX spot desk at Goldman Sachs. Fast forward 7 years to 2002, and he was running one of the top global exotic options books in the world. In his quest to start something of his own, he left Goldman Sachs and, in 2004, built a small boutique market making business, which focused on exchange-listed options products. Since then, this man has never looked back and has even proved his mettle as a business personality in the world of trading. In 2019, he moved to the TT (Trading Technologies) platform, which is an ultra-low-latency software-as-a-service (SaaS) trading platform.

Speaking on the memorable trades of his career, Adam Webb says there have been plenty, including the global financial crisis, the dot.com crash, the Kobe earthquake, the European debt crisis, and many others, highlighting that the Kobe earthquake for the most disrupting, which had started a chain of events since 1995, which led him to trading yen options for Goldman and in those days, they had to spoof to survive and get out of customers’ orders and had the interbank market to do that. Things have changed now with non-bank liquidity providers, he says.

Adam Webb looks forward to seeing and also bringing in many other advancements in the trading world in the coming years.
