Not only in India, married women across the country wished their husband’s longevity by keeping a fast (even drinking water is prohibited ) throughout the day in on the Karva Chauth.

On the occasion of Karva Chauth, the married women broke the fast by placing the aarti in the sieve after seeing the moon. In many areas of the capital, Lucknow, girls were seen breaking the fast of Karva Chauth on the road side. It is being told these girls are those whose marriage is fixed but they are falling in the next month. While some had kept a fast for their lover.

An auspicious time for an hour and 14 minutes of worship

  • The festival of Karva Chauth in Hinduism was celebrated with great fanfare.
  • After 12 days from today, the festival of Deepawali 2017 will be celebrated.
  • Karwa Chauth is also known as Karak Chaturthi. Karva or Karak means the use of a pottery in which a woman gives a rare chance to the Moon.
  • According to the Hindu calendar, this festival is celebrated on the fourth part of Kartik month’s Krishna Paksha.
  • Today, Sunday, the total time of worshiping Karva Chauth was 1 hour 14 minutes.
  • Puja Chaturthi dated on 8th October 04:58, which will end on October 9 at 02:16.
  • This festival is celebrated mainly in the northern part of India. On the day of Karva Chauth, married women pray for long life of husband without drinking water (waterless).
  • On this day married women eat “sargi” at the the time of sunrise After which, fast for the long life of the husband all day starts.
  • In the evening, women wear colored  sarees and wait for the moon to come out by putting a henna on their hands.
  • After leaving the moon, women eat food after worshiping and breaking the fast.

Timings For Karwa Chauth were as follows:

  • Trinity is ending at 4:58 p.m. on the day of Karva Chauth.
  • From 4:59 p.m. the fourth day will be launched.
  • Furthermore,moon at the Karwa Chauth on moon night at 8:13.
  • On the 9th day of October, the Chaturthi date ends at 2:17 p.m. in the afternoon.
  • Therefore, Karavachutha’s fast was on 8th October.
  • In the scriptures it is the law to do this day on the moon day of Chandrodaye Abhasini Chaturthi of Kartik month.
