All efforts to provide world class service:

  • This is an outstanding ridership figure as compared with the initial ridership of other Metros in India.
  • The people of Lucknow are very excited and happy that Lucknow is also a “Metro” city. And they are cooperating well during their journey in Metro.
  • Lucknow Metro has been able to start its operation with ‘Token’ and
  • ‘GoSmart’ card with a full-fledged state-of-the-art Automatic Fare
  • Collection (AFC) system from the first day of its operation for the ease and convenience of its Metro commuters.
  • This is an outstanding achievement as other Metros have not been able
  • start their operations with token, smart card & the AFC system.
  • In fact, the recently started Metro in India have used paper tickets during
  • their initial days of public services on account of non-commissioning of fare collection system.
  • LMRC has also provided the facility of Automatic Token Vending Machine (TVM) and
  • Recharge Card Terminal Machine (RCTM) for all Metro commuters from the very first day of its operation.
  • Passengers operate these terminals on their own to get their ‘token’ as per their desire of travel without waiting in long queue thus saving time.
  • This facility has never been started by any Metro in India during its initial days of operations.
  • It sets LMRC apart from other Metro systems in India in providing world
  • class state-of-the-art facilities to Metro commuters from the very first day of Metro operations.
  • Other facilities like provision of free drinking water for all, free toilet for all, free Wi-Fi for Smart Card users,
  • FM services for public announcement, first aid, medical and emergency help to needy commuters and
  • help and support to ladies, elderly and differently-abled Metro commuters also set Lucknow Metro apart from other Metro systems in India.

Receiving great number of footfall:

  • Furthermore , the Lucknow Metro trains are the most advanced Metro trains in India.
  • They are equipped with the Communication Based Train Control (CBTC)
  • signalling system which allows trains to operate ‘safely’ under any circumstance.
  • Safety of passengers is the top most priority in LMRC.
  • These trains are operated from 6 AM to 10 PM daily for passenger services.
  • In the initial days, few technical glitches have been reported in the system.
  • But, any new Metro which has been opened for public services do face
  • such kind of tethering problems in the initial months of operations.
  • World over, the Metro systems face such problem.
  • These problems gradually subside once the system stabilizes in a couple of months.
  • Therefore, Lucknow Metro is just like other Metro system which is facing such technical issues in its initial stages of operations.
  • LMRC attracted 31, 688 public ridership on the first day of its operation (i.e. 06.09.2017) which is an excellent passenger ridership.
  • The induction of Metro trains in service is being managed depending upon the number of footfalls in the Metro system.
  • The operations team inducts more Metro trains in service if it analyses that it is receiving a greater number of footfall at stations.
  • LMRC is expecting a very good ridership turnout on Sunday (i.e 10.9.2017).
  • It has, therefore, commenced operations with four trains today.
  • The fifth train may also be inducted in the evening to cater the traffic demand, if required.
  • A high train frequency will be maintained for the convenience of Metro users.Sent on:5:51 am.
